The weather center’s remote sensors evaluate outdoor temperatures from -39.8 to 139.8 degrees F, wind speeds from 0 to 118 mph, and rainfall from 0 to 393-3/5 inches. From a distance up to 200 feet, the wind and rain sensors transmit data to the thermo-hygro sensor. In turn, the thermo-hygro sensor communicates with the receiver from up to 200 feet away. The receiver wall-hangs or sit on a tabletop with a detachable stand; the sensors come with mounting brackets and hardware. For data storage on a home computer, the weather center comes with a USB transceiver and the free download of La Crosse’s Heavy Weather 2800 Pro PC software v.1.3 (compatible with Windows XP, Vista, and Windows 7 operating systems). The transceiver communicates with the receiver from up to 80 feet away. To power the weather center, the separate purchase of five C and two AA alkaline batteries is required. A limited one-year warranty covers this item. The weather center receiver measures 7 inches wide by 1 inch deep by 4-3/5 inches high.
