Did you ever want to know what your Hot Tub,Pond,Pool or Soil temperature is without having to leave the house? Now you can. This item includes both a TX25U 915Mhz Wireless Sensor with 6'-6" probe and a easy to read base station. The base station can accept up to two TX25U sensors! The Weather Stations digital display shows the current time and displays indoor temperature/humidity, outdoor temperature and time. The remote sensors digital display can display two wireless temperatures (the air temperature and also water/soil temperature using an optional 6'-6" probe). This item is great for gardeners as well. Transplanting shock in seedlings can be avoided, if the soil temperature is checked before planting.  Most seeds require a warm soil to a depth of at least 3" (8cm) in order to encourage germination.  Planting by the calendar disregards weather variations from year to year.  Timing planting based on soil temperature helps assure plants get a good start.  Plants that have been planted in soil that is too cold exhibit symptoms similar to those planted in soil that has poor nutrients values.  Once the soil warms up they begin to grow vigorously, if they have survived the cold conditions. Rating Works better than I would have thought!
  Item works better than I would have thought. I have the probe in my hot tub which is outdoors in Massachusetts. I do not have to go outside and open the cover to make sure it is up to temp at all times. In the summer I will move it to my pool.

  We had the La Crosse for less than a year. We had to replace the batteries three times, each time it got cold. It was great when it worked. This winter the remote quit all together. So it is not functional for letting us know our hot tub temperature. Time to try something else.
